Statistics is a section of Mathematics that deals with the collection, analysis, interpretation and presentation of numerical data and masses. In other words, Statistics is a group of quantitative data. The word “Statistics” is derived from the Latin word ‘Status’, which means a collection of figures or numbers, and this constitutes some data of human interest. Statistics can be found and experienced in day-to-day life, such as on TV, and other information tools, such as books, newspapers, etc. Interestingly, earlier, it was highly used and preferred by Kings for the purpose of gathering data about their sovereign states and, further, information required about citizens, their earnings, yield and revenue of the country, etc. The motive of statistics is to grant sets of data to be contrasted so that the analysts can focus on consequential changes and trends. Analysts examine the information to reach conclusions concerning its meaning.
